When planning & budgeting for a project it is tempting to want to acquire your own subcontractors. We would recommend you let the General Contractor hire & manage the subs. The General Contractor will have a relationship with the subs. This lends to fine-tuned communication, familiarity of work style, better warranty practice, and usually provides for a smoother process.
